Please have a look at a commented
subset of my publications
to get some samples for these topics.
Concepts
Generally speaking I am interested in concepts and software architectures
for developing hybrid and evolutive programs.
I believe in object concepts as a good structuring notion,
in reflection as a means for adaptation,
and parallel and moreover distributed architectures
as requirements.
For a recent insight on how these different concepts may be articulated,
you may look at some
recent publications
on the topic.
Development
Some recent activity has been to complete a new version of
Actalk,
a Smalltalk-based software testbed to model, classify and experiment with
various OOCP (Object-Oriented Concurrent Programming)
models, languages and constructs.
See also the
papers
on the topic.
Organization
I have been the main organizer of a French/Japanese
Workshop on Object-Based Parallel and Distributed Computation
(OBPDC'95),
which was held in Tokyo, Japan, in June 21-23, 1995.
Now I am currently co-editing, with Jean-Marc Geib and Akinori Yonezawa,
the formal proceedings,
to be published in LNCS Springer-Verlag around Spring 1996.
I am chairing the oncoming
Euro-Par'96
Workshop on Meta-Level and High-Level Control of Parallel Programs
(see CFP),
in Lyon, France, August 27-29, 1996.
I am program committee member of the francophone conference about
Object-Oriented Programming and Knowledge Representation:
"Langages et Modèles à Objets"
(LMO'96),
in Leysin, Switzerland, October 17-18 1996.
Meta-Research
From October 1992 to October 1995, I have been "chargé de mission"
(scientific adviser)
for the "
Sciences pour l'Ingénieur"
(Engineering Sciences) Department of
CNRS in Japan.
Some output of my activity may be found in the following
information services
(in french) about engineering (notably computer) science in Japan.
